She was born on September 16, 1939 in Harrisburg, PA to the late Helen (nee O’Hara) and the late Ralph S. Azensky. Barbara moved to Paterson, NJ where she graduated Central High School, then moving to Trenton, NJ attending Tombrock College; later settling in West Milford NJ marrying John Joseph Lindsay, working many years with her husband in his plumbing company. Upon retirement Barbara moved to Port Charlotte, Fl. For over a decade she worked at Burdines, then Dillard’s and retired again as a CNA at Lexington Manor. Barbara was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, and companion who will be greatly missed. She was predeceased by her husband John J. Lindsay, dearest son, Jack J. Lindsay Jr.; her father Ralph S. Azensky, her mother Helen O’Hara; her brothers Joseph S. Mitchell Jr, Ronald R. Jarensky, Richard A. Jarensky; her sister Dorothy A. DeSilva; and her nephew, Jeffery R. Scheck. Surviving is her companion of 25 years Dan A. Collins; which they loved dancing, traveling, and eating out; her beloved brother Robert J. Azensky; her two sons and their wives Mark D. and Cindy Lindsay, Bryan W. and Kim Lindsay; her grandchildren Deanna P. Koether, Mark J. Lindsay, Miranda K. Lindsay, and Decker R. Lindsay; her great grandchildren Payton L. Koether and Ashton P. Koether; her nieces Chelie Plicinski, Tabitha L. Mitchell, Natasha V. Dvorak, and Crystal A. DeSilva; and her sister-in-law Sonia R. Dvorak. The family will receive visitors on Thursday, February 29, 2024 from 9am to 10am followed by a prayer service at 10am at Stickle-Soltesz Funeral Home, 187 La Rue Road, Newfoundland, NJ 07435. Following the prayer service, Barbara will be laid to rest next to Jack Lindsay on Thursday, February 29, 2024 at Laurel Grove Cemetery, 295 Totowa Road, Totowa, NJ.
