A CELEBRATION OF LIFE: TO BE ANNOUNCED Jeanette M. Denovchik, 88 years of age, of Oak Ridge, NJ., passed away on Sunday, April 12, 2020. Born on May 18, 1931 in Paterson, NJ to the late Johanna (nee Ripmeester) and the late Joseph Vanden Houten. Jeanette worked for over 25 years as a registered nurse for the Diocese of Paterson at Straight and Narrow. She married Peter Denovchik in 1957 and resided in Paterson, NJ. In 1997, she moved to Oak Ridge, NJ to be closer to family. She was an active member of the Golden Age Club of Milton and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. In her spare time, she enjoyed going to the casinos, watching game shows, doing word search puzzles, and watching the Mets play baseball. As a lifelong fan, lately she preferred reruns of their winning years. But most of all, Jeanette will be remembered for spending time with her ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren, especially going to the campground every summer. She became a grandmother nearly 40-years ago and made a special personal connection with each grandchild who holds fond memories of their time with her. Jeanette was predeceased by her husband Peter in 1985, her brothers Arthur, Peter, and Joseph Vanden Houten, and her sister Fredericka Foti. She is survived by her five children who are immensely grateful for her love, Susan Colon (Louis) of Pt. Pleasant, NJ., John Denovchik of Oak Ridge, NJ., Janet Carola (Tom) of Oak Ridge, NJ., and Lisa Dunkerley (Edward Willard) of Oak Ridge, NJ., Diane Allex (John Wigley); her cherished grandchildren Louis Colon (Bari), Jessica Colon, Angela Carola (Scott), Nicole Standfast (Grant), Samantha Carola, Cathleen Carola, Elizabeth Allex, Rae Allex, Olivia Allex, and Christina Allex; her adored great grandchildren who she made special memories with: Grant and Charlie Standfast, Elsa Lowry, Avery Wilson, and Malaya Allex. Final disposition will be private. A Celebration of Life will take place in the future.
