Nussbaum (Wilkie) On October 13, 2025, Brenda Joyce Nussbaum (Wilkie) slipped the earthly bounds to join her friends and family with our Heavenly Father. To say that she was a beloved sister, sister-in-law, mother, daughter, wife, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend would be a vast understatement! Since she was born in New York City to Emily Wilkie (Aguilar) and Owen Wilkie in 1946, she has been as genuine of a family member, friend, and co-worker as anyone could be. Brenda and her family moved to Fair Lawn, NJ, in 1952, where she graduated from Fair Lawn High School and met her husband-to-be, Bill (William) Nussbaum. They soon were married, had three children, Bill (William), Suzanne, and Teresa while relocating to Jefferson Township. Brenda soon became a valued member of the Jefferson Township Democratic Party Committee and eventually President of the committee. She also worked at Sears at the Rockaway Townsquare Mall for around 30 years, both as a secretary and as an appliance salesperson, having retired twice from Sears. Everywhere she went, though, she brought her genuine concern and interest in the everyone who was connected to her. Brenda had lifelong friendships, including Pat Sotilli as well as the ladies with whom she regularly and joyfully played mahjong. She was predeceased by her grandson Owen Sarwatka. Brenda is survived by her loving husband, Bill; her son Bill; her daughters Suzanne Sarwatka and Teresa Nussbaum; her granddaughter Jessica Berger; her grandsons Joshua Nussbaum, and his fiancé Kate Devries; Jordan Nussbaum; and Ryan Nussbaum; her great granddaughter Hailey Devries; her great grandsons Cooper Devries and Jasper Devries; her sister Jan Wilkie; her sister-in-law Betty Ann Yerkes; her nephew James Perrier; and her nieces Allison Susi, Dr. Amy Vigliotti and Megan Lynch. A memorial visitation will take place on Friday: October 24, 2025 from 10am to 12noon with a prayer service at 12 noon at the Stickle-Soltesz Funeral Home, 187 La Rue Rad, Newfoundland, NJ 07435.
