PRIVATE FINAL DISPOSITION Charles G. Jensen, of West Milford, NJ passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, January 16, 2021 after a brief illness at the age of 79. He was born on April 5, 1941 in Hackensack, New Jersey to the late Mable Ann (nee Smith and Charles George Jensen, Sr. Charlie went to school in Pompton Lakes, NJ prior to serving honorably in the New Jersey National guard where he trained as a welder. Upon his honorable discharge, he followed in his father’s footsteps, and began working at the American Can Company. In keeping with his ambitious nature, he attended night school and earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Farleigh Dickinson University while working full time and raising a young family. He ultimately retired in 2005 as Vice President of Operation for KEM Manufacturing in Fairlawn, NJ. Charlie was a gifted craftsman and there wasn’t a project that he couldn’t handle. He could always be found tinkering in the garage. He loved cars, boats, trains, planes, motorcycles, all things that go, and working on them. He enjoyed watching auto racing and was a big fan of drag racing. He built his own dragster and had fun times racing the strip at the drag way. He belonged to the Drifters Car Club and also built a hot rod to cruise in. He loved the ocean and spent many weekends at the Jersey Shore on his boat, The Special Lady, fishing, crabbing and relaxing. He built a small railroad with a steam engine in his backyard in West Milford for his young grandchildren to ride on. With a smile that could light up a room he was always there to lend a hand to family, friends and neighbors or to talk shop. He was a man of much wisdom and a zest for life. Charlie was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Mabel Anne Jensen (nee Smith), and daughter Lynn Gormley (Charles). He is survived by his beloved wife Lois Jensen and her children Ernie (Laura), Lori (Wayne), Robert, and James. He is also survived by his sister, Marian Jensen-Barford (predeceased by Harry), his brother Harry (Darlene), and two sons Dean (Susan) and Christopher (Elizabeth) from a previous marriage with Beverly (nee Mickelson). He took great joy in his grandchildren: Caitlyn, Lindsey, Brittany (Justin), CJ, Kevin (Shaina), Honey David, Ernie (Maraelise), Angela (Brian), Danielle (Erin), Wayne (Cat), Kody (Amy), Jordan and Toni, as well as his great grandchildren: Rylee, Jaxon, Georgia, McKenna, Belle, Xavier, and Myles.
