EUGENE V. KEELER

Eugene “Gene” V. Keeler, of Oak Ridge, NJ passed away on Saturday, July 23, 2016. He was born in Hoboken, NJ to the late Clement and the late Edith (nee Alexander) Keeler. Gene married Elaine Libonati in 1964 and resided in Maywood, NJ soon moving to Oak Ridge, NJ where they raised their family and have continued to live to the present time. Gene was a lifelong parishioner of St. Thomas the Apostle RC Church in Oak Ridge. He was a Eucharistic Minister and devoted much of his time toward stewardship activities. He will best be remembered for his generosity, dedication to the church, and his ability to find a bargain. Gene was predeceased by his beloved daughter Deborah Jean in 1994, his dear mother Edith in 1994, his loving father Clement in 1980 and his dear sister-in-law Linda Keeler in 2012. He is survived by his beloved wife Elaine of Oak Ridge, NJ, his devoted children Garrett Keeler and his wife Kate of Silver Spring, MD, Andrew Keeler and his wife Nancy of Landing, NJ, and Janice Sorge and her husband Joseph of South Brunswick, NJ; his cherished grandchildren Alexander Sorge, Vincent Keeler, Nora Keeler, and soon-to-be-born baby girl Keeler; his dear brother Gerard Keeler of Washington State and several loving nieces and nephews. The family will receive visitors on Tuesday, July 26, 2016 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at the Stickle-Soltesz Funeral Home, 187 La Rue Road, Newfoundland, NJ 07435. A funeral mass will take place on Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at 9:30 am at St. Thomas the Apostle RC Church, 5635 Berkshire Valley Road, Oak Ridge, NJ 07438. Interment will follow at St. Thomas the Apostle Cemetery, adjacent to the church.
