George was born in Oyster Bay, NY to Susan Brady and George B. Newman Sr.. George grew up in Matawan, NJ with his sister SueAnn. George married the love of his life, Joann, and they began their family together where they had George, Kathleen (predeceased 1966), Robert, and Daniel. They lived in Brooksville, Florida; Kearny, NJ; and then settled in Oak Ridge, NJ where they raised their family and made lifelong friends. George was a master of all trades; farming, mechanics, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, landscaping, and everything in between. He loved to garden and made every home into a beautiful sanctuary for his family, pets, and wild birds to all enjoy. George cherished spending time with his family and friends, always happy to entertain with the best Tom Collins and some cake and coffee. Everyone who knew George loved his humor, charm, passion for life, perfectionism, and his amazing hair and smile. He spent many years helping his children and friends with any home projects or improvements with his amazing skills and talent and would never take a dime from anyone, he just did it from his heart. George enjoyed going with Joann to their grandchildren’s sporting events, graduations, barbecues, birthday parties and holidays, and just spending time together. He loved spending time at the cabin, where he relaxed and enjoyed the nature, lake, sound of the waterfall, company, and serenity. George was a wonderful father and grandfather to his children, their spouses and all of his grandchildren: His son George, wife Carol, and children Alexandria, Victoria and Chadd; His son Daniel, wife Amy, and children Tyler and Danielle. George was a great brother-in-law to Joann’s brother Bob, wife Ellie, and daughter Gina. All of his grand-puppies adored him too and could not contain their excitement and love for him. Thank you George, Dad, Pops, Bud, for all your love and support throughout your life, we are all so honored to have been part of it. The family will receive visitors on Saturday, March 29, 2025 from 2pm to 4pm with a prayer service at 4pm at the Stickle-Soltesz Funeral Home, 187 La Rue Road, Newfoundland, NJ 07435. Final disposition will be private.
