GERARDO G. COLICCHIO

Gerardo G. Colicchio, 84, of Oak Ridge, NJ, loved and admired as “Pappa-Nonno” passed away on Wednesday, November 4, 2015. Gerardo was born on December 1, 1930 in Vallata, Italy to the late Giovannina and Nicola Colicchio. Gerardo resided in Italy until his marriage to Maria Lobrace on January 2, 1955. Shortly after their marriage they moved to Venezuela. In 1972 they moved to the Newark-Irvington, NJ area where they raised their family. He spent his career at Swan Tubing in Califon, NJ where with his hard work ethic, he moved his way up from Machinist to Shop Foreman. During his tenure at Swan Tubing he spent time as treasurer for the United Steelworkers of America-Local 12882. Upon his retirement, Gerardo and his wife lived in Jefferson Township with their daughter until his final days. Family was the focus of Pappa-Nonno’s life. His wife, children and grandchildren were his everything. Pappa-Nonno was predeceased by his parents Giovannina and Nicola Colicchio, and his sisters Giuseppina and Francescina. Pappa-Nonno is survived by his beloved wife Maria of over 60 years; his loving daughter Joanne Ginefra and her husband Ken, and his devoted son Nicola Colicchio and his wife Mary Lynne; his three dear brothers Michele, Salvatore, and Peppino; his three dear sisters Lucia, Grazia, and Maria; and his five cherished grandchildren Kenneth and Vincent Ginefra, and Nicholas, Caitlin, and Hailey Colicchio. The family will receive visitors on Sunday, November 8, 2015 from 4pm to 8pm at the Stickle-Soltesz Funeral Home, 187 La Rue Road, Newfoundland, NJ. 07435. The funeral mass will take place on Monday, November 9, 2015 at 10am at St. Thomas the Apostle RC Church, 5635 Berkshire Valley Road, Oak Ridge, NJ 07438.
