FUNERAL MASS: THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 2, 2017 10:30AM ST. THOMAS THE APOSTLE RC CHURCH 5635 BERKSHIRE VALLEY ROAD OAK RIDGE, NJ 07438 James M. Geary, 75 years, of Georgia, formerly of Oak Ridge, NJ, passed away on Sunday, October 29, 2017 at the Compassionate Care Hospice in Dover, NJ. He was born on March 20, 1942 in Newport, Rhode Island to the late Anne Marie (nee Cinelli) and the late Richard Henry Geary. James graduated from Rogers High School and went on to earn two Bachelor Degrees from Bryant College, a BS and a BBA in Business Administration. He married Diane (nee Foy) in August 1992 and just celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary. They resided in Oak Ridge, NJ, and later moved to Georgia where they have lived for the past 23 years. He proudly served in the US Marine Corp in Camp Le Jeune, North Carolina from 1962 to 1968. James sang in the St. Thomas the Apostle RC Church choir while residing in New Jersey and in the St. Thomas of Aquinas RC Church choir while in Georgia. In New Jersey, James volunteered his time with the Special Olympics, coached basketball in Jefferson and Randolph and at the YMCA. While in Georgia, James enjoyed playing tennis and coaching basketball, and for the last six years he was a substitute teacher at The Cottage School. James is survived by his beloved wife Diane, his dear son Ryan Michael Geary and his wife Elizabeth of Basking Ridge, NJ; his step-children Ed Bamper and his wife Carrie of Flanders, NJ and Tim Bamper of Highland Lakes, NJ; his cherished grandchildren Mason, Carter, and Skylar Geary; his step-grandchildren Kaitlyn, Megan, Joshua, Dylan, and Sean Bamper; his dear brothers David Lee Geary and his wife Betty, and Robert Francis Geary, as well as several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at 10:30am at St. Thomas the Apostle RC Church, 5635 Berkshire Valley Road, Oak Ridge, NJ 07435.
