New, age 33, passed away on February 14, 2020 in his Jefferson Twp., New Jersey home. Born in Painesville, OH on June 20, 1986, he graduated from Conneaut High School in 2005. He served in the United States Army from 2006 to 2010 as a Private First Class in the Dealer Company, 2nd Battalion 69th Armor Regiment 3D Heavy Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division. Additionally, he served in Operation Iraqi Freedom and received medals in Army Achievement, National Defense Service, Global War on Terrorism Service, Iraq Campaign Medal with Campaign Star, and ribbons in Army Service and Overseas Service. Following his service, he completed a degree for Maintenance Technician at Erie Institute of Technology. Jeremy loved the American Flag and was proud to be an Army Veteran. He was an avid reader and enjoyed rooting for his hometown teams, the Cleveland Browns and The Ohio State University Buckeyes. He was loved by both veterans and staff at the East Orange VA Medical Center. Those who took the time to get to know the heart beneath the burly exterior quickly found a loyal friend for life. Jeremy had a heart of gold and without hesitation would give the shirt off his back to help others. He is survived by his four siblings, Rebecca Lloyd (Dan Lloyd), William Pope (Cindy Pope), Michael Covill (Breanna Covill), and Jennifer Wiles (Braiden Wiles) and his step- father Mike O'Neill. Nieces include Courtney Pullin (Avien Colon, great nephew) Haylee Wiles, Emma Covill, Braylynn Wiles, and Gabriella Wiles. Nephews include Ty Covill, William Wiles, and Braiden Wiles Jr. Jeremy held a special place in his heart for Karen and Mike Penkoski and their children (Hunter, Logan, and Olivia). He is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Pullin. A Military Honors Memorial Visitation will take place on Saturday, March 7, 2020, from 2-4pm with Moments of Reflection at 3:30pm at the Stickle-Soltesz Funeral Home, 187 La Rue Road, Newfoundland, NJ 07435 (for GPS use 1 Post Place).
