JOSEPH M. WYSO

Joseph M. Wyso, 83, of Oak Ridge, NJ, formerly of New York City and Ridgewood, NJ, went to be with the Lord on Monday, October 12, 2015 surrounded by his family. Joe was born on December 3, 1931 in New York City to the late Mary (Wojciechowski ) and the late Michael Wyso. Joe proudly served his country in the US Army from 1952 to 1953 in combat during the Korean War (160th Regimen-40th Division). Joe married Helen A. (Sciora) in 1952 and together they raised their three daughters in Ridgewood, NJ, later moving to Oak Ridge where they have resided for the past 23 years. Joe was employed throughout his career with Typographical Union #6 in New York City. He was a member of the American Legion Post 423, Milton; the Korean War Veterans, Chapter 170; the Knights of Columbus Council #5510 in Milton, Oak Ridge and was also a member of the Milton-Oak Ridge Senior Club. Throughout his life, Joe was a parishioner at St. Stanislaus B&M Church, NYC; Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Ridgewood, NJ, St. John Vianney RC Church in Stockholm, NJ, and St. Thomas the Apostle RC Church in Oak Ridge, NJ. Joe was predeceased by his sister Helen Kuprianchik and his brother Peter Wyso Joe is survived by his beloved wife Helen of 63 years; his three wonderful and loving daughters Joyce Simpson, Christina Hazard and her husband Richard, and Edwina Francaviglia; his eight cherished grandchildren Michael, Jonathan, Adria, Jennifer, Erin, Meagan, Michelle and DeAnna; his eight great grandchildren Kaylee, Kelsea, Miles, Henry, Collin, Connor, Anne Olivia, and Cooper; as well as many nieces and nephews. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at 10:30am at St. Thomas the Apostle RC Church, 5635 Berkshire Valley Road, Oak Ridge, NJ 07438 followed by the interment at St. Thomas the Apostle Cemetery, adjacent to the church.
