Paradis, of Oak Ridge, NJ, died the morning of February 19, 2020 with her dog Jeeves by her side. Margaret was born and raised in Englewood, NJ as the oldest of 4 children. She’s the graduate of Vassar College, St. John’s Law School and received her PHD in International Law from NYU. Margaret practiced corporate law in Washington DC and New York City. Her proudest achievement was as the mother of Olivia Paradis, where they resided in Ridgewood, NJ. Beloved sister of David and Stephen Paradis and Regina Snyder. Forever remembered as a champion for her friends and family as well as surviving Stage 4 Ovarian Cancer for 6 ½ years. She defied the odds by 6 ½ years. In 2017, she created S.O.C Monkey Foundation with her daughter Olivia to provide information and guidance to patients and their families surviving through cancer. Due to her reoccurrences on the liver, Margaret underwent state of the art procedures like radio- and chemoembolization at this facility. The S.O.C. Monkey Foundation—Surviving Ovarian Cancer Remembering Margaret Regina Ann Paradis Margaret jumped into the cancer research community immediately after her first diagnosis. She became very involved in online support groups, volunteered when she could at cancer- related events, and was inspired to establish her own contribution to the ovarian cancer community. The S.O.C. Monkey Foundation was an ongoing project Margaret and her daughter began in 2017. Moving forward, the S.O.C. Monkey Foundation aims to continue her goals of bridging gaps between knowledge and involvement with ovarian cancer across social, medicinal, and political communities.
