Colicchio, 88, of Jefferson Township, NJ, beloved as “Mamma-Nonna”, passed away at home surrounded by her family on Saturday, February 17th, 2024. Maria was born in Vallata, Italy to the late Gaetano and Rosaria Lobrace. Maria resided in Italy until her marriage to Gerardo Colicchio on January 2, 1955. Shortly after their marriage they moved to Venezuela. In 1972 they moved to the Newark-Irvington, NJ area where they raised their family. In 1996, Maria and her husband moved to Jefferson Township to live with their daughter. She treasured making memories vacationing with her family. She loved spending time in her garden, tending to her precious roses, taking walks around the neighborhood, and watching classic movies. But above all, family was the focus of Mamma-Nonna’s life. Her husband, children and grandchildren were her everything. Mamma-Nonna was predeceased by her husband Gerardo, her parents Gaetano and Rosaria Lobrace, her brother Angelo and sister Caterina. Momma-Nonna is survived by her loving daughter Joanne Ginefra and her husband Ken, and her devoted son Nicola Colicchio and his wife Mary Lynne; her sisters Carmela and Frances; and her five cherished grandchildren Kenneth Ginefra and significant other Brooke, Vincent Ginefra and his wife Carmela, and Nicholas, Caitlin, and Hailey Colicchio. The family will receive visitors on Friday, February 23rd, 2024 from 4pm to 7pm at the Stickle-Soltesz Funeral Home, 187 La Rue Road, Newfoundland, NJ. 07435. The funeral mass will take place on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at 10am at St. Thomas the Apostle RC Church, 5635 Berkshire Valley Road, Oak Ridge, NJ 07438. The interment will follow at St. Thomas the Apostle Cemetery, adjacent to the church.
