CELEBRATION OF LIFE SATURDAY, DECEMBER 16, 2023 11AM GREEN POND BIBLE CHAPEL 1083 GREEN POND ROAD GREEN POND, NJ (NEWFOUNDLAND) REPAST WILL FOLLOW IN THE CHURCH HALL Marolyne Rosemary Green Abberley reached the end of her wonderful life and entered into the presence of her Savior on December 11, 2023, at the age of seventy-nine. Born in Shropshire, England on June 24, 1944, Marie spent her early years on the family farm. In her teens, she attended a boarding school in Culmington. Marie chose a career in beauty working as a hairstylist in Tenbury Wells, Worcestershire. She met Michael Abberley in their late teens and they married in 1965. They settled in Worcestershire where they operated a hair salon and welcomed their first two daughters Amanda and Clare. Michael’s work moved them to the United States in 1975 where they had their daughter Karen in Wyckoff, New Jersey. Marie was active in the Oakland Newcomers Club, taught craft and painting classes at the Oakland library, and held a leadership position in the Oakland Garden Club and New Jersey State Garden Club. After a brief stint in Texas, the family settled in Newfoundland, New Jersey where they met their savior Jesus Christ at the Green Pond Bible Chapel and got involved in various aspects of Church leadership. Marie was a very talented artist, floral designer, and sewer. She most recently was president of the Goldfinch Decorative Art Painters, met with a card-making group regularly, and enjoyed weekend camping trips with family. Marie was predeceased by her parents Edwin and Hilda Green, a sister Rene, and a brother Wallace. She is survived by her husband of fifty-eight years Michael Abberley; three children Amanda (husband Timothy), Clare (husband Gary), and Karen (husband Kevin); grandchildren Luke, Mark & Dakota, Sarah & Will, Michael, Natalie, Nathan, Nolan, Logan, Marolyne; brothers Richard and Rob (partner Jane). She also leaves many other family members and dear friends. A Celebration of Life service will be held at Green Pond Bible Chapel on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at 11:00 am. Repast to follow.
