Born on April 17, 1960, in Syracuse, New York, Mary Beth was the daughter of William Byron Houston Sr. and Carol Evelyn Houston (née Cox). She grew up in Glen Ridge, New Jersey, and earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Mary Beth began her career at Warner-Lambert, later continuing at Pfizer, where she worked as a Senior Research Associate and Group Leader. It was at Warner-Lambert where she met her beloved husband, Steven Michael Faust. The two were married on November 5, 1988, and built a loving home in Jefferson, New Jersey, where they raised two daughters. A devoted mother and active community member, Mary Beth served as a Girl Scout troop leader and volunteered with the Auxiliary of the local First Aid Squad. She brought kindness and dedication to everything she did. Mary Beth loved hiking with her family and their dogs, and found great joy in reading, participating in several book clubs. She was passionate about travel, exploring destinations such as Egypt, Scotland, Iceland, Costa Rica, Canada, and Alaska, and cherished yearly family vacations to the Outer Banks. She will be remembered for her intelligence, warmth, and generosity of spirit. Her quiet strength and thoughtful presence left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her. Mary Beth is predeceased by her father, William Byron Houston Sr., and her sister, Kathryn Ann Houston Porcelli. She is survived by her loving husband Steven; her daughters, Sarah Florence Faust (Timothy Delany) and Rachel Ann Faust (Kevin Palm); her mother, Carol Houston; her brother, William Byron Houston Jr. (Vickie Chang); and her brother-in-law, Thomas Anthony Porcelli. She is also fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews. Memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2025 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm, with a memorial service at 3:00 pm at the Stickle Soltesz Funeral Home, 187 La Rue Road, Newfoundland, NJ.
