MATTHEW E. COLLINS

Matthew E. Collins, 62, of Butler, NJ, passed away on Monday, June 6, 2016. He was born on August 22, 1953 in Astoria, Queens to the late Doris (Wells) and Matthew E. Collins, Sr. Matt was a self employed Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC) and retired in 2014. He married Denise (Marttine) in 2007 and resided in Pompton Lakes, NJ. Matt was an avid musician who played multiple instruments in various bands with friends and family. He enjoyed playing and recording music and was most happy when sharing that passion with others. Matt will best be remembered for hosting his backyard BBQ parties with his family and friends Since retiring, Matt enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Matt was a friend of Bill W’s. Matt is survived by his beloved wife Denise, his loving daughter Kimberlee Wells and her spouse Michelle Lyczkowski; his dear step-daughters Natalie (Marra) Drasheff and her husband Jeffrey of Butler, NJ, Michelle Marra and her significant other Saki Karakostas of Ridgefield, NJ, and Nikki Marra of Ellensburg, WA; his cherished grandchildren Dominik, Leon, and Ariana Drasheff; his dear brothers Christopher Collins and his wife Lyn of Bloomfield, NJ, Kenneth Collins and his significant other Patty of Powhatan, Virginia, and Sean Collins and his wife Amanda of Ossining, NY; his nieces Jennifer Collins, Melissa Fera and Veronica Fera; and his nephews Ian Collins, Stephen Collins, James Fera, and Christopher (CJ) Collins; his mother and father-in-law Rose and Patrick Marttine of Bushkill, PA, and his sisters-in-law Patricia Marttine-Jones of Vernon, NJ and Janice Marttine of Bushkill, PA The family will receive visitors on Sunday, June 12, 2016 from 12 noon to 4pm with a prayer service at 3:30pm followed by moments of reflection during the last half hour of the visitation at Stickle-Soltesz Funeral Home, 187 La Rue Road, Newfoundland, NJ 07435.
