ROBERT DAVID OLIVIERI

Robert David Olivieri, 76, of Oak Ridge, NJ passed away on Sunday, May 15, 2016. He was born on August 20, 1939 in Paterson, NJ to the late Aquilina and Aldo Olivieri. Robert married Ellen Kay (Schlosser) in 1970 and resided in Wayne, NJ later moving to Oak Ridge, NJ where they raised their two daughters. He was employed for many years as a Cost Accountant at Champion Mortgage / Key Bank in Parsippany, NJ. Robert enjoyed the simple pleasures in life…a good Italian meal with family and friends, humming along to his favorite 50’s songs on 101.1 FM, a quiet moment outside in nature, and a good gin and tonic while grilling up something delicious for his family on a hot summer day. He was also a lifelong New York Yankees and New York Giants fan. He was a dedicated and loving husband, father, and grandfather, putting the wants and needs of his family before his own. His unique perspective, quirky sense of humor and big bear hugs will be missed by all who were lucky enough to know and love him. Robert was predeceased by his sister Jean DeVito. Robert is survived by his beloved wife Ellen Kay, his loving daughters Kathleen Marie and Deborah Lynn Olivieri; his cherished granddaughter Sarah Eleanor Olivieri; his dear nieces Carolyn Kramer, Lauren Steers, Donna Drury-Heine, Judilyn Pizella, Jacqueline MacDonald, and Patricia Bensimon; his dear nephews Robert and Kevin Kramer, and William and James Sifflard; as well as his adored close family members Hugh and Michelle MacDonald, and Kimberly Vogel. The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, May 18, 2016 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at the Stickle-Soltesz Funeral Home, 187 La Rue Road, Newfoundland, NJ 07438 (GPS use 1 Post Place). The funeral mass will take place on Thursday, May 19, 2016 at 11am at St. Thomas the Apostle RC Church, 5635 Berkshire Valley Road, Oak Ridge, NJ 07438. Final disposition will be private.
