THOMAS THE APOSTLE RC CHURCH 5635 BERKSHIRE VALLEY ROAD OAK RIDGE, NEW JERSEY 07438 Rose F. Kelly, 90, passed away peacefully on September 21, 2021, surrounded by family, after an extended illness. She was born on March 18, 1931 in Netcong, New Jersey to Josephine (nee Oliva) and Nicolo Fiorello, joining a large loving family. Rose was united in marriage to John “Jack” Kelly on September 26th, 1953 in Netcong, NJ. They moved to Oak Ridge in 1956 and maintained a home there for the next 65 years. Jack and Rose renewed their vows in front of family and friends in 2018. Rose and Jack were blessed with three children: Joan Romanyschyn and her husband Joseph of Port Jervis, NY, Stephen of Mount Arlington, NJ and Karen Geruntho and her husband Bryan of Mayer, MN. They were joined by four grandchildren: Erik Romanyschyn and his wife Eliza of Pine Bush, NY, Caren Cremen and her husband Christopher of Abington, PA, Kevin Geruntho of Eagan, MN and Vincent Geruntho of Plymouth, MN, as well as two cherished great-grandchildren: Eleanor Cremen and Louis Romanyschyn. Rose was employed as an engineering technician for Picatinny Arsenal in Dover for over 20 years. In her spare time, she enjoyed volunteering for many civic organizations, including Jefferson Township Fire Department #1 Ladies Auxiliary, St. Thomas The Apostle R.C. Church, Department for Persons with Disabilities, Jefferson Township Historical Society, and several groups dedicated to veterans. Rose also enjoyed occasional visits to area casinos, playing golf and family genealogy research. She and her husband traveled together within the United States and Europe. She was a longtime member of St. Thomas the Apostle Church R.C. in Oak Ridge, New Jersey. In addition to Rose’s devoted husband Jack, her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, her life will be forever remembered by her surviving sisters and brother, Josephine Defelice of Succasunna, Joan Howard of Wharton and Michael Fiorello of Stanhope, and many nieces and nephews. Rose was preceded in death by her parents Josephine and Nicolo, and her siblings Chester Fiorello, James Fiorello, Nicholas Fiorello, Anna Lombardi, Lucy Webb, Mary Cholish, Antoinette Lamberto, Louise Fiorello, Dominic Fiorello, Richard Fiorello and Theresa Arbolino. A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, October 16th, 2021 at 9:30 am at St. Thomas the Apostle R.C. Church, 5635 Berkshire Valley Road, Oak Ridge, New Jersey 07438. The family wishes to express their thanks to Visiting Nurse Association of Northern New Jersey at St. Clare’s Dover Hospital for their kindness and compassion.
