Fagan, 92 years, passed away at Oakland Rehab and Healthcare Center with family at his side on Sunday, May 25, 2025. He was born on May 20, 1933 in Newark, NJ to the late Doris (nee Goeller) and the late Harold Fagan. William served in the Navy on the USS Amphion AR 13 (repair ship) from 52-55 and always was proud to tell his story of receiving a telegram announcing the birth of his niece Patricia while painting the side of the ship. He married Marie Paglia on July 14, 1956 and resided in Newark and then to Avenel, NJ in 1962 to 2017. William worked for and retired from Tung-Sol Electric, now Wagner Brake. He loved all genres of music, movies, telling jokes, and dogs, especially his beloved Schnauzer Pepper. He was famously known as Favorite Uncle Bill and loved to bring us all to Dairy Queen or the Milk Barn for ice cream. He had a warm caring heart and took care of everyone he could, from family to friends he had in the nursing home. He was often described as the mayor as he befriended everyone he could. He and his brother fought in Golden Gloves in their hay day and at 92 wasn’t afraid to still “throw fists” to keep everyone on their toes! He was predeceased by his wife Marie Paglia in 1995, his son John W. Fagan, his daughter Antoinette Fagan, his brother Joseph H. Fagan, his sister-in-law Maryellen Fagan (nee Kincaid), and his Stepfather John C. Rooney. William is survived by his loving niece Patricia Hollenstein (nee Fagan), his nephews Thomas, Joseph and Robert Fagan, his great nieces and great nephews Michelle Schaller (nee Larson), Karen Gioffre (nee Larson), Kimberlee Bernardi (nee Hollenstein), Eric Hollenstein, Thomas Fagan, Cara Doyle (nee Fagan), Colleen, Jack (John), Shane Fagan, Zachary and Rebeca Fagan; his great-great nieces and great great nephews Melissa Devenney (nee Hinchman), Jamie Hinchman, Richard, Matthew and Jonathan Kaye, Justin and Anthony Bernardi, Jaxon Hollenstein, and his great-great-great nephews Samuel and Nolan Devenney.
