Knoth, 95, of Rockaway Township, NJ, passed away quietly in his home on Saturday, January 8th 2022. Born to German immigrant parents Alfred O. and Anna (nee Juraitis) Knoth in Hoboken, New Jersey and resided in West New York, NJ and then to Rockaway Township where the family currently lives. On June 10,1972, Alfred married Margarete E. (nee Gotzmann). Alfred had aspirations of joining the Lead Burners Union where he had received training but decided to join his father at Mutual Chemical Company in Jersey City until the plant closed. He then began his career at Picatinney Arsenal for 32 years. He started to work in the Naval Air Rocket Test Station under the X-15 Program. He stayed at the center until he was transferred to the High Explosives Production line in the late 1960’s. He finished his career at the Arsenal holding various positions until retiring. A devout Catholic, he attended Sacred Heart Church in Rockaway Borough. He was a former member of the Jephthah Masonic Lodge #223 in Rockaway. Alfred was a good husband, father and provider to his family. A proud Opa (Grandpa) to his only grandson Wilhelm which he loved playing board games with. He loved talking to people and always had a smile on his face. He is known for his generosity and helping out his friends. He loved bingo and raising his many dogs. He will be missed greatly. Alfred was predeceased by his mother Anna Knoth, his father Alfred O. Knoth, and his sister Ingeborg Knoth. He is survived by his beloved wife Margarete of 49 ½ years, his loving son Alfred H. Knoth and his wife Greta, and his cherished grandson Wilhelm Knoth. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to: The Wounded Warrior Project, P.O.
