MEMORIAL SERVICE: PLACE, DATE, AND TIME TO BE ANNOUNCED MEMORIAL DONATIONS: AUTISM SPEAKS, 1 EAST 33RD STREET, 4TH FLOOR NEW YORK, NEW YORK 10016 Alice Carol Burgess, 71 years, of Oak Ridge, New Jersey, passed away on Monday, September 3, 2018. She was born on January 9, 1947 in Paterson, New Jersey to Jeannette Mary (nee Struble) and Albert Francis Whritenour. Carol married George Robert Burgess in 1968 and resided in Pompton Lakes, New Jersey, moving in 1974 to Oak Ridge, New Jersey where they raised their daughter. For about nine years she was a copy setter and typist at the Suburban Trends. While living in Oak Ridge, New Jersey she managed the Loziers Trailer Park for over 30 years. She was predeceased by her dear parents Jeannette Mary Whritenour in 2009 and Albert Francis Whritenour in 1989. Carol is survived by her beloved husband George, of Oak Ridge, her loving daughter Michele Leigh Jacobs and her husband Jay M. Jacobs of Franklin, New Jersey; her cherished grandchildren Matthew Robert Jacobs and Ashleigh Carol-Marie Jacobs of Franklin, New Jersey; her dear siblings Barbara Miller of New Jersey, Nancy DeGroat of New York, Peg Whritenour of New York, Janet Henderson of New Jersey, Kathi Jollie of Maryland, and Charlotte Weitz of New Jersey; as well as many nieces and nephews. Carol will best be remembered for doing her puzzles and crafts, cooking, gardening, and most of all spending time with her grandchildren. A memorial service will take place in October; place, date and time to be announced.
