CHARLES DUNAY

Charles Dunay, 79, of Oak Ridge, passed away on March 3, 2011. He proudly served in the US Navy on the Destroyer , USS Samuel B. Roberts, during the Korean War and attended the Stevens Institute of Technology after he was honorably discharged from the Navy. It was at this time that he played guitar in a band on weekends for 14 years. Mr. Dunay was employed for 29 years at Marotta Controls Inc. in Montville, NJ as a Quality Control Specialist, and retired in November 2003. Mr. Dunay and his wife Phyllis volunteered their time at GAIT, a therapeutic horseback riding facility for handicapped people, which he joined in 1998 after the program moved to Milford, PA. Mr. Dunay leaves behind his loving wife Phyllis of 25 years as well as two stepchildren: Susan Gramlich of Maine and Douglas Baird of Ocean NJ; five grandchildren; four brothers: Peter Dunay in Oregon, Frank Dunay in Ringwood, NJ, Edward Dunay in North Carolina, and Martin Dunay in Clifton, NJ; as well as two sisters: June in Colorado, and Doris in Las Vegas. The family will receive visitors on Sunday, March 6, 2011 from 2 pm to 6 pm with a service during the visitation at 4 pm at Stickle-Soltesz Funeral Home, 187 LaRue Road, Newfoundland, NJ 07435.
