CHARLES PAPA

April 13, 1943 - November 13, 2010

Charles Papa, 67, of Oak Ridge, NJ, passed away at his home on November 13, 2010. He was born in Jersey City, NJ to Angelina (DeGuilmo) and Charles Papa and was raised in Union City. Mr. Papa proudly served in the US Army where he was honorably discharged. He also served as President for many years for the Cozy Lake Association. Mr. Papa enjoyed spending summers with his family in Lake George, NY and family reunions in Delaware. Mr. Papa will best be remembered for his love of sports, especially the Giants, the Yankees, and the Rangers. His grandchildren lovingly called him “PopPop” and his great nieces and nephews called him “Uncle Flashlight”. Mr. Papa is survived by his loving wife JoAnn  Papa, his two sons: Nicholas Papa of Rockaway, NJ and Anthony Papa and his wife Rosa Anna of Fairfield; his sister Barbara Zinke of Gastonia, NC; his five grandsons: Dante, Alexander, Peter, John and Joseph; his three granddaughters: Cassarah, Marisa, and Chiara; several nieces and nephews as well as many great nieces and great nephews, cousins and many longtime friends. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 20, 2010 at 11 am at the Stickle-Soltesz Funeral Home, 187 LaRue Road, Newfoundland, NJ 07435.
