James J. McCann, Sr., 77, of Lake Hopatcong, NJ, passed away on Monday, July 11, 2016 at Compassionate Care Hospice in Dover, NJ. He was born on October 8, 1938 in Elizabeth, NJ to the late James J. and Mary (nee Welsh) McCann. James proudly served as a Private from 1956 to 1957 in the United States Marines. On a daily basis, James would assist customers at his daughter and son-in-law’s UPS Stores in West Milford, and Oak Ridge. James is survived by his beloved children Deborah Johnson and her husband Marshall of Oak Ridge, Doreen Rodriguez and her husband Ivan of Oak Ridge, NJ, James McCann and his wife Seeta of Oak Ridge, NJ, Dana Pearson of Lincoln Park, NJ, and Brian and Kevin McCann, both of Union City, NJ; his cherished grandchildren Kurt McCann, Scott Johnson, James McCann, Teresa McCann, Brianna and Alexa Rodriguez, and Chandler Pearson; and his adored great granddaughter Aurora McCann. The family will receive friends for a memorial visitation on Friday, July 15, 2016 from 6pm to 8pm followed by a memorial service at 8pm at the Stickle-Soltesz Funeral Home, 187 La Rue Road, Newfoundland, NJ 07435 (GPS use 1 Post Place).
