MEMORIAL DONATIONS: AMERICAN LEGION POST 423 28 LEGION ROAD OAK RIDGE, NJ 07438 Marilyn J. Vitkovsky, 89 years, of Oak Ridge, NJ, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2017 at The Health Care Center at Bloomingdale in Bloomingdale, NJ. She was born on January 27, 1928 in Nutley, NJ to Hazel (nee Owen) and Richard Berlin. Marilyn graduated from Nutley High School, later marrying Thomas Vitkovsky and resided in Nutley until 1959 when they moved to Oak Ridge, NJ and raised their family. She was a member of the American Legion Post 423 in Jefferson Twp., Oak Ridge, NJ in the Ladies Auxiliary, as well as a member of the American Legion Post 174 in Wayne, NJ and in the VFW in Mountain View. Marilyn will best be remembered for many things including the “especially made for you by Marilyn” greeting cards she created for all of her friends and family. She was predeceased by her loving husband Thomas in 1993, her dear daughter Tracy Abalos in 2013, and her dear sister Marge Gural in 2016. Marilyn is survived by her loving children Sandra Davick and her husband Christin, Thomas Vitkovsky, Judy Crispino, Nancy Ackerman-Schipper and her husband Richard, and Michael Vitkovsky; her cherished grandchildren Theresa DeFeo and her husband Greg, Justin Abalos and his wife Sarah, Meghan Abalos –Guerrero and her husband Arnold, and Brett Vitkovsky; her adored great grandchildren Mercedes, Dominic, and Gianna DeFeo, and Brooklyn Abalos; her beloved longtime companion Walter “Wally” Lech; and her dear sister Elaine Clarke. The family will receive visitors on Sunday, Aug. 6, 2017 from 2pm to 5pm with a prayer service at 4:30pm during the last half hour of the visitation at the Stickle-Soltesz Funeral Home, 187 La Rue Road, Newfoundland, NJ 07435 (For GPS use 1 Post Place).
