Richards, 65 years old, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, November 14, 2019. He was born on January 1, 1954 in Franklin, New Jersey to the late Gene and Phyllis (Bunting) Richards and lived his entire life in West Milford, NJ. Mark was a graduate of West Milford High School and took a BS degree in History from William Paterson University. He was employed in a number of home improvement companies over the years as well as various rail roads and was most recently employed by New Jersey Transit. Mark enjoyed reading and hunting and was a very avid model railroad enthusiast. He was a frequent contributor to the local newspapers espousing a Libertarian philosophy. In his spare time he volunteered at the West Milford Museum and a Friend of the Long Pond Ironworks. A memorial visitation will take place on Saturday, December 7, 2019 from 1:30pm to 2pm with a memorial service starting at 2pm at the Stickle-Soltesz Funeral Home, 187 La Rue Road, Newfoundland, NJ 07435 (for GPS use 1 Post Place).
