Garrison, 85, of Oak Ridge, NJ., passed away at home on November 25, 2022. He was born on August 7, 1937 in Jersey City, NJ. to the late Anna (nee Johnson) and the late Myron Garrison. Raymond graduated Kearny High School in 1956. He worked until his retirement as a photo lithographer for Bowne Business Communications in Secaucus, NJ. Raymond proudly served in the United States Army from 1960 until 1966, during the Cold War. He became an instructor at the Army Engineer School for process photography and ended up stationed at the Seventh Army Headquarters in West Germany, where his career began as a lithographer. He was a proud member of the American Legion Post 423 in Milton, NJ. He married Margaret (nee Hill) in 1961. They resided in Oak Ridge, NJ since 1968 where they raised their three daughters. Through the years Raymond enjoyed golf, carpentry / woodworking, photography, football and ancestral research. Raymond will best be remembered for his love of family and friends and spending time with them. Raymond was predeceased by his parents Anna and Myron Garrison; his brothers Arnold, Eugene, Ralph, Oliver, and Emerson; and his sisters Myra, Joyce, and Eva. He is survived by his beloved wife Margaret of Oak Ridge, NJ., his loving children M. Christina Garrison of Max Meadows, VA, Edith Snyder and her significant other David Baldwin of Washington, NJ, and Heather Callioni and her husband Ray of Vernon, NJ; his cherished grandchildren Donna, April, Patricia, Megan, and Alexandra; his adored great grandchildren Mark, Wyatt, Dylan, Kayleigh, and Amora; his dear sisters Lois and Verna; and many dear nieces and nephews. The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at the Stickle-Soltesz Funeral Home, 187 La Rue Road, Newfoundland, NJ 07435 (for GPS use 1 Post Place). A prayer service will take place on Thursday, December 1, 2022 at 11am the funeral home, followed by the interment at the Northern New Jersey Veterans Memorial Cemetery on Route 94 in Sparta, NJ.
