Born on April 13, 1987 to the late Joanne (nee Garabo) and the late David Corcoran. Dale will always be remembered for the love and loyalty he showed family, friends and especially his most precious person, his son Antonio. The strength and courage Dale displayed in his fight with mental illness inspired all who knew him. Sadly, his pain became too overwhelming. Dale is survived by his amazing son Antonio Dale Corcoran, whom Dale loved with all of his heart, and the love of his life Jillian Havemann. He was predeceased by his brother, Tyler Corcoran; and is survived by his dear sisters Dana Porschen and her husband Brad of Fredericksburg, VA; Ashley Corcoran of Keansburg, NJ., his dear brother Dave Corcoran of the Bronx, NY, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Dale lived for his family – deeply rooted in loyalty, love, and his bond with the people he shared his life with. He is also survived by his group of brothers, and although they were not tied by blood – their relationship was bonded by a lifetime of comradery, loyalty, and love. He was a union carpenter for Union Local 253 in Hackensack, NJ., and inherited his love of carpentry from his father, who was also of the same profession. He loved woodworking, and could be found in the garage on many late nights, creating bird houses and clocks, household projects and furniture – it was his passion. He was an avid fisherman, and enjoyed just hanging by the water with his son for hours, cracking jokes and enjoying the outdoors, even if they didn’t catch any fish. Additionally, he was an amazing poet and songwriter. Dale was a multifaceted man of many, many talents, and will be sorely missed by all who knew him – because to know him was to love him. Dale inherited his writing skills from his mother, and although she preceded him in death, her words written in the following poem expressed the deep bond and love only a mother can have: _______________________________ How can I ever tell you my son how I feel for you? You’ve made my life so precious; you’ve made my dreams come true. There was a time when I was young and felt so insecure, I thought that I could never feel a love so pure. And through the years before you came, I felt so weak inside - I searched and waited for a love that would give me strength and pride. Your father meant the world to me, I love him til this day, But my hope for something sacred never went away. And this feeling that I longed for, but never could describe, Was there until I found you growing deep inside. You started out inside as a tiny seed, and growing there inside me, I felt your love Indeed. A tiny little baby growing deep inside, And when I finally held you, I found my strength and pride. For you are just so innocent, And your love will never fail, And that’s why I’ll always love you - My one and only Dale. Love always, Mom The family will receive visitors on Saturday, August 15, 2020 from 3pm to 5pm at the Stickle-Soltesz Funeral Home, 187 La Rue Road, Newfoundland, NJ 07435 (For GPS use 1 Post Place). A Celebration of Life party will follow at 50 Circle Drive, Oak Ridge, NJ 07438 – All are welcome to attend. Although Dale’s time on earth with us was far too short, he lived his life with purpose, and was devoted to his son and family. He was over the top – full of energy and large than life – which is exactly how we intend to commemorate him and the time that we all cherished with him. We’ll have plenty of food and drinks, and celebrate his life in the way that he would have wanted us to – together, cracking jokes and reminiscing on the good times that so, so many have shared with him over the years.
