Maguire, 76 years, of Oak Ridge, NJ, passed away on June 8, 2022 after a valiant fight with pancreatic cancer. He was born on September 9, 1945 in Englewood, NJ, the first-born child of Doris (nee Remaley) and James E. Maguire. Jim had many interests and enjoyed landscaping his yard, going on fishing trips with his dad, brother, and friends, walking his dog Lacie, taking cruises and traveling, doing puzzles, playing chess and taking part in Civil War reenactments with the 7th New Jersey Volunteer Infantry. His career in the field of transportation led him to many years at Red Star Express and United Parcel Service (UPS) from which he retired. Jim is survived by his beloved wife Julie Borcsik Maguire, his loving children Jamie Maguire and her fiancée Brian, Stephanie Nelson Sefjack and her husband Dan, Laurie Nelson Lawson and her husband Shawn, Marnie Maguire, and James M. Maguire; Grandpa Jim is fondly remembered by his five beautiful grandchildren Alli and Mikey Lawson, and Ariana, Michael, and Danny Sefjack; his siblings Bruce Maguire and his wife Patricia, and Doris Ann Maguire Szilasie; his nieces Rayna Fornari and her family, Tara Maguire-Meditz and her family, and Michele Maguire and her family; and his nephew David Joseph “DJ” Szilasie. The family will receive visitors on Saturday, June 25, 2022 from 10am to 12noon followed by a prayer service at 12noon at the Stickle-Soltesz Funeral Home, 187 La Rue Road, Newfoundland, NJ 07435 (for GPS use 1 Post Place). A committal service: placement of urn in niche will take place on Sunday, June 26, 2022 at 11:30am at the Garden of Memories, Building 8, Second Floor, Washington Tw., NJ.
