JOHANNA SCHNACKENBERG

IN LIEU OF FLOWERS MEMORIAL DONATIONS MAY BE MADE TO: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital PO Box 1000, Dept. 142 Memphis, TN 38101-9908 Johanna Schnackenberg, 79 years, of Oak Ridge, NJ passed away on Sunday, August 12, 2018. She was born on August 17, 1938 in Jersey City, NJ to the late Catherine (Calabrese) and James Grossi. Johanna married Louis Schnackenberg in 1959 and resided in Jersey City, NJ relocating in 1963 to Oak Ridge, NJ where they have resided until her passing. She worked for New York Telephone Company while she was in High School. After she was married and living in Oak Ridge she was a tailor for many years at the Sears Department Store in Rockaway, NJ. Johanna was a faithful parishioner of St. John Vianney RC Church in Stockholm, NJ. She will best be remembered for her sewing skills, especially making wedding dresses and alterations for friends. Johanna was predeceased by her sister Catherine Schnackenberg in 1998 and her brother-in-law Paul Schnackenberg in 1996. She is survived by her beloved husband Louis, her loving sister Patricia Grossi of Bridgeton, NJ; her dear nieces and nephews: Michael Schnackenberg, Laura Van Natta and her husband Michael, Barbara Edwards and her husband Bruce, Catherine Gruszka and her husband Nicholas, Paula Kuczynski, Paul Schnackenberg and his wife Joelle, James Schnackenberg and his wife Maryann, and Stacey Schnackenberg; and her fourteen great nieces and nephews, and four great great nieces and nephews. The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, August 15, 2018 from 4pm to 8pm at the Stickle-Soltesz Funeral Home, 187 La Rue Road, Newfoundland, NJ 07435 (for GPS use 1 Post Place). A Mass of the Resurrection will take place on Thursday, August 16, 2018 at 10:30am at St. John Vianney RC Church, 2823 Route 23 South, Stockholm, NJ 07460. Final disposition will be private.
