SALVATORE "SAL" DOMENICO

Salvatore “Sal” Domenico, 93, of West Milford, NJ, passed away at Chilton Memorial Hospital in Pequannock Twp. on Thursday, December 10, 2015. Sal was born on July 10, 1922 in Ozone Park, Queens, NY to the late John and Anna (Meo) Domenico. He proudly served his country as a Private in the US Army during World War II from 1942 to 1946, earning the European African Middle Eastern Service Award and the World War II Victory Medal. Sal married Connie (Concetta Nasso) in 1947 and together they raised their family in Ozone Park, later moving to West Milford, NJ in 1987. He was a bus driver for many years with the Green Bus Lines in Queens, NY Sal was a parishioner of St. Joseph RC Church in West Milford and would enjoy dressing as Santa for the school children and in later years even more so for his grandchildren. He was also a member of the West Milford Golden Age Club. Sal will best be remembered as a genuinely good person, with a kind and gentle nature, and for his love of socializing. He would do anything for anyone and would always put others before himself. He was caring and fun-loving with a terrific sense of humor. Sal is survived by his beloved wife Connie of 68 years; his loving son Rocco Di Domenico and his wife Eileen, his dear daughter Annabel Koblick and her husband Barry; his adored grandchildren Michael, Mark and Tara Di Domenico; Kristen Koblick Ortega and her husband Dave, Jessica Koblick, and Kasey Koblick and her fiancée Michael; and his cherished great grandchildren Alexandra, Dylan and Cole; as well as numerous nieces and nephews throughout the United States. The family will receive visitors on Sunday, December 13, 2015 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at the Stickle-Soltesz Funeral Home, 187 La Rue Road, Newfoundland, NJ 07435 (GPS use 1 Post Place). The funeral mass will take place on Monday, December 14, 2015 at 10:30am at St. Joseph RC Church, 454 Germantown Road, West Milford, NJ 07480, followed by the interment at St. Joseph Cemetery, adjacent to the church.
